Bio

Niusha had his first professional acting role in 2015 and has since played a variety of roles across different theatre companies in the Washington, D.C. area.

Beginning with his performance as the kidnapped and abused Actor 3 in Blind Pug Arts Collective Presents the Theatre of Self-Loathing Presents Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf, he has played characters of all types. From the flamboyant yet attentive Boyette in the site-specific Loves LaBEERS Lost to the dual roles of the drunken, sullen Bardolph and the pompous, vicious Dauphin in Henry V to the petulant adolescent Aed in the world-premiere of The Infinite Tales, he’s had a chance to demonstrate his range.

In addition to traditional scripted work, he’s also been able exercise his skills as a deviser. In Play Cupid, he was able to help craft a choose-your-own adventure, dating-game-style production that was treat for all audiences. Later, he was lucky enough to twice be a “medium” in productions of The Tarot Reading, a devised work where each actor crafts three short pieces based on tarot cards to be performed with different participating audience members. In both cases, the show was a major success.

In between live theatre, Niusha works as a voice actor, continuing his practice of playing a wealth of roles for audio books. Cowboys, federal agents, super-powered heroes and villains, comedic monsters, francophone vampires, and space warriors are just some of the roles he’s voiced over his career.

Beyond his work as an actor, Niusha is also a writer. Having written several short plays, a tv pilot, a feature film, and other works, he’s only beginning his journey as a writer with an eye towards working across mediums.
